Encore Spirit Fingaz Continues to Lead the Wellington Charity Fantasy Football League

Playing for a Cause - Wellington Charity Fantasy Football League

Wellington Charity Fantasy Football League
ranking as of Nov. 1, 2016

I'm so excited to be a part of the Wellington Charity Fantasy Football League again this year. This year I'm playing for Big Brother's Big Sisters Serving Sumner County. I feel like this charity really falls in line with our studio values - by providing guidance and support to children in our community.

I wanted to share some needs of the organization. I asked Debi Clark for some information to pass along to the public. If reading this, you feel it in your heart to help - please contact Debi. Thank you!

"Our program still needs adult volunteers to serve over 50 youth that have requested a one-to-one relationship with them.  They only have to commit to 30 minutes a week, for a minimum of a year.  For more information they can go to www.kansasbigs.org and complete an online application to get started or email me at dclark@kansasbigs.org  Like us on Facebook at Kansas Big Brothers Big  Sisters serving Sumner County.  For those who are unable to volunteer but want to help, they can donate or participate in our upcoming bowl April 1st 2017 @ Meadow Lanes.  Call 620-399-8030 for more information or email at above address."

Thanks for reading! We love being able to use the studio to help promote the great things in Wellington and the area. Want to hear more about Michelle's Encore Dance Studio? Click over here and we'll send you information on our current dance season! -- Miss Michelle

November 2016 Studio Updates

Thank you all for an incredible couple of months of dance. Your kids have been SO GOOD!!! Very well behaved, very thoughtful, and have really been "getting" it. We know that dance class is so much more than learning steps to a routine- but giving your kids confidence, building friendships, and giving them a gift to be proud of. We are very grateful that you have put your trust in US to take your children on this journey! Thank you...
Here are some upcoming events and opportunities for your dancer and family to participate in- I may have missed something- but wanted to get this out as quickly as I could to keep you all in the loop:
NOV. 7-10: PARENT WATCH WEEK/FOOD BANK WEEK
Your dancers have been doing a great job in their classes and learning a lot of new things. We’d love to have you join us for "Parent Watch Week/Food Bank Week." During the week- parents are invited to come watch class - the 'admission fee' is a donation to the Wellington Food Bank! You may leave your donation on the table, if you prefer to make a monetary donation- please put it in an envelope and drop it in the payment drop box. Please label it- Food Bank Donation. Space is limited.
SPRING RECITAL: Date will remain Sat. May 13, 2017 @ 6PM Wellington High School Auditorium.
Required Dress Rehearsal will be that Saturday morning at 10:00 am.
Dancers may leave after their dances are over, they return to the HS by 5:40 PM for the 6:00 Show!

Participation in the recital is not required- however - seeing your dancers on stage, showing the entire auditorium what he or she has learned and the courage and confidence they have is just beautiful! Please let me know if your dancer will not be performing in the recital as soon as possible.. They may still attend classes and learn the choreography - they will just not be in the final show.
Dance Class Costume Deposits: You will find a costume deposit charge on your November Statement. (Tumbling classes do not participate in the dance recital and do not have a costume fee.) This amount is ½ of the expected cost of your costume. Your December statement will have the remainder of your balance due. If your expected costume fee is $70, $35 is charged now and the remainder will be charged in December. Costumes will be purchased over Christmas break. All costumes must be prepaid. (I know it’s AWFUL timing- but that unfortunately is the way most costume companies do it- to ensure we get them in time for the spring recital)
Here is the expected costume prices - as per the agreement signed at the beginning of the season.
PROPOSED COSTUME FEES:  Age 3-5: $50, Age 5-11 (Youth , Level I & Level II) $50-60, Age 12+ (Level III): $60-70
HOLIDAY CHRISTMAS PERFORMANCES: Christmas Performance Opportunities: Our dancers will be performing for Brookdale and Wellington Health and Rehab on Sunday Dec. 19. First show is at 1, second will be immediately afterwards - approx. 1:45*. This isn’t required- but we do want as many dancers to be there as possible. It’s a highlight for the residents and a fun opportunity for dancers to perform in front of an audience- while building confidence and pride for your dancer!
Wellington Christmas Parade: We will be participating in the parade scheduled for Saturday Dec. 3 @ 10 AM! We have been planning on our closed facebook group. The parade theme is “Storybook Christmas”  - our families have decided to go with a Grinch Theme. Please hop over to the facebook group to stay in the loop. This is open to all of our dancers and we always welcome the entire family to join us! The more the merrier!

Studio Apparel: This is not required- just optional:
We are finalizing the artwork for new shirts, tank tops, and reordering studio jackets. (Same jacket and design as last year) We will have those on display this week in the lobby for sizing. Pricing and order forms will be available as soon as possible in the lobby, or download from facebook group and website.
